Case Summary:

In this EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) case, a postdoctoral researcher from the Philippines hired North America Immigration Law Group to help him refine and strengthen his I-140 petition. This petition is the first step towards a green card and it is crucial that it be perfectly presented to the USCIS.

Our client’s Ph.D. in Organic/Organometallic Chemistry, 4 publications, 265 citations to his work, and various research projects on organic and polymer synthesis, metal catalysis, and carbon-hydrogen bond functionalization made him a suitable candidate for EB-2 NIW. Our legal team worked diligently to prove just how valuable his studies are to the United States, and that no other chemist with similar skillsets can accomplish what he has. The USCIS agreed with our presentation and ultimately approved our client’s petition a little over six months after we filed it. However, we have no doubt that the recommendation letters our client gathered from other experts in his field also played a role in the case approval. These letters firmly attested to the value of our client’s work to the United States. For instance, one of these letters stated, “The synthesis of organic compounds has been improved with innovative methods that make it easier to develop necessary ingredients for medications, plastics, and chemicals. These processes have increased output and provided cheaper materials for industries and consumers all across the country. [Client] is a uniquely skilled scientist in that he has created several original techniques that accomplish these processes.”

We are glad that our client is now one step closer to becoming an American permanent resident. We wish him all the best with the final leg of the green card journey.
