On February 8th, 2016, we received another EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) approval for a Postdoctoral Associate in the Field of Neurobiology (Approval Notice).
General Field: Neurobiology
Position at the Time of Case Filing: Postdoctoral Associate
Country of Origin: China
Service Center: Texas Service Center (TSC)
State of Residence at the Time of Filing: Massachusetts
Approval Notice Date: February 8th, 2016
Processing Time: 3 months, 3 days
Case Summary:
With an M.S. in Molecular Genetics and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, our client has a strong educational background that equips her for an illustrious career in the field of neurobiology. Her current research focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms that underlie several visual diseases—and on how this information empowers treatment of such maladies. She hired North America Immigration Law Group to refine and strengthen her EB-2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) petition.
As requested, our legal team demonstrated to the USCIS that our client’s work contributes to the United States’ treatment of vision impairments and the quality of life that patients inflicted with these diseases are able to expect. We also ensured that the USCIS was aware that only a small handful of neurobiologists are able to attain impactful research findings the way our client has. As with all our clients, we encouraged this postdoctoral associate from China to contact other experts in her field to obtain letters of support. The five recommendation letters that she gathered were incorporated into our comprehensive EB-2 NIW petition packet. One of her recommenders had this to say about her role as a researcher: “[Client’s] contributions to scientific research have been utterly innovative, and because of this I am confident that she will continue to be very productive in her future research and this will contribute to a variety of important areas of scientific study.” We also included information on the 112 citations to our client’s work and her publication record (8 published journal papers and 1 book chapter).
The USCIS approved our client’s NIW petition three months after we filed the case on her behalf. She is currently waiting for her priority date to become current before taking the final step towards her green card: the I-485 application. We wish her all the best.
