Case Summary:
For this case we worked with a postdoctoral researcher from China with a specialized focus on the use of tissue engineering for regeneration of teeth, cartilage, and bone. His highly prolific career thus far had produced 32 peer-reviewed scientific articles and 5 national and international conference proceedings, and he had been cited at least 748 times, primarily by independent researchers at prominent and leading institutions and organizations worldwide. This remarkable citation record clearly indicates the major significance of our client’s work. He had also reviewed at least 18 manuscripts for 9 or more distinctive, internationally-circulated journals. It was our goal to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that he sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of extraordinary ability, and that his continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. An independent recommender affirmed the significance of our client’s research: “[Client’s] research provides a less costly strategy for cartilage repair, as well as a less painful and invasive method, as it does not reduce mobility like total joint replacement does. With the significant number of sufferers in the United States (some 26.9 million in 2005), this new research changes the face of osteoarthritic treatment for the better, and it is due largely in part to [Client] and his innovative methodologies.” With the proof and documentation that we provided, his case was approved in four months and nine days.
Recently, the USCIS has accelerated its case adjudicating time at the 2nd quarter of 2014, which is reflected in the number of case approvals of our firm.
